Membership

Introduction
Members of Australasia Property Advisory Association (APAA) are expected to adhere to the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity. This Code of Conduct outlines the principles and guidelines that all members must follow to maintain the reputation and integrity of our community.
Professionalism
• Members shall conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all association events and interactions.
• Chatham House rules may apply at Association events. An APAA Committee Member will make a formal announcement to all parties present if Chatham House rules are to apply. Otherwise, members are expected to maintain a level of professionalism and commercial sensitivity at all times.
Respect
• Members shall treat all fellow members, guests, and association staff with respect and dignity, regardless of differences in background, opinions, or experiences.
• Respect for the confidentiality and intellectual property of others is paramount.
Compliance with Laws and Regulations
• Members shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in their professional activities.
• Any violations of laws and regulations may be grounds for disciplinary action by the association.
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
• Members are encouraged to collaborate, share knowledge, and support one another's professional growth within the property industry.
• Plagiarism or unauthorized use of others' work is strictly prohibited.
Diversity and Inclusions:
• APAA values diversity and inclusion. Members shall actively promote an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and respected.
• Discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic is not tolerated.

Social Responsibility:
• Members are encouraged to engage in socially responsible activities, including charitable work and community outreach, to benefit society at large.
Reporting Violations:
• Members who witness or suspect a violation of this Code of Conduct by another member should report it to the association's ethics committee and leadership.
Disciplinary Action:
• Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspension, or expulsion from the association, as determined by the association's leadership and committee.
Conflict of Interest
• Members shall disclose any potential or actual conflicts of interest that may compromise their objectivity or impartiality in association activities.
• Transparency in handling conflicts is essential for maintaining trust within the community. Any conflicts between members will require dispute resolution and mediation with one of the APAA Committee Member's present.
Non-solicitation:
• Members will not take advantage of the Association's events or platforms to directly sell or market their products and/or services. Any requests for introductions between members can be made to APAA for facilitation at the absolute discretion of APAA.
• Any commercial activities must be conducted in accordance with association guidelines and appropriate channels.

By becoming a member of APAA, individuals agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and uphold the values and standards it represents. Failure to adhere to this Code may result in sanctions as outlined above.
This Code of Conduct is subject to periodic review and may be updated to reflect changing industry norms and best practices.
