About Event

Description

🏗️ How can Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) help accelerate housing delivery in Australia?

APAA is pleased to be a Supporting Association for the National MMC Luncheon Forum, hosted by Prefab Council Australia.

📅 Thursday 22 October 2026 | 12:30pm to 3:30pm

📍 Crown Conference Centre, Southbank, Melbourne

The forum will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers and built environment professionals to explore practical pathways for scaling prefabrication and MMC across Australia.

🎙️ Hear from industry leaders including:

  • The keynote address by Hon. Clare O’Neil MP (Federal Minister for Housing)
  • Hon. Rose Jackson MLC (NSW Minister for Housing)
  • Dr Robert Sobyra (BuildSkills Australia)
  • Shayne Whitehouse (UrbanTechPlus/PCA)
  • Dr Tharaka Gunawardena (Gruha/PCA) and more.

Three panel discussions will focus on key barriers:

✨ Regulatory Reform: NCC conformity, certification, national consistency

✨ Finance & Insurance: lending, underwriting, risk transfer for MMC

✨ Pipeline Solutions: government procurement and anchoring demand

For APAA members and our wider professional community, this is an opportunity to exchange ideas, connect across the sector and contribute to the conversation on Australia’s housing future.

🎟️ APAA members: A 10% discount is available on table bookings of 10. To join an APAA table, email info@apaassociation.com.au and we’ll coordinate the booking.
